There are a wide range of opportunities for competitive type bowling at Parklands.  See below for details of our Tournaments, Competitions and Interclub games last season.  The programme for the next season starting September 2010 is expected to be similar.

Most Parklands Bowling Club tournaments are open to bowlers who are members of any bowling club; although some tournaments as listed below are for members only.   In addition, our greens are often used by Bowls Canterbury for their tournaments and by other affiliated organisations for various bowling events.

Parklands Bowling Club enters as many teams as possible in the Bowls Canterbury Interclub Games.  Our aim is to give our members a wide range of Interclub options bowling against teams at all levels of the competition.

Next seasons Interclub entries will include most of the following:-

Mens Three Fours
Womens Interclub
Womens Fives
Junior Fours
Womens Junior Pairs
Mens 10's
Mens 2 Pair
Womens 10's
Rowntree Cup
Men's 2 Pair                                                                                  Mixed 10's
Mens 7's
Mens Watson Shield
Junior Howard Smith
Junior BB pairs

We also have 4 rinks in the Mens Tuesday afternoon friendlies and a number of special games against local and distant clubs.

The club has a wide range of club competitions for both senior and junior members.  In 2009-2010 we used a format where some of the competitions are played in a round-robin format for the first 4 games.  This had the advantage that every entrant plays a certain number of games before the knock-out phase starts.
