Parklands Bowling Club is one of the premier bowling clubs in Christchurch. We are one of the youngest clubs in the city, known by many as the “Friendly Club”. We welcome new members, either existing bowlers or those new to the sport. If new to bowls we provide free coaching. If you wish to arrange free coaching with a group of friends, please ring George Mckay on (03) 382 1467. Parklands Bowling Club serves a large area of North East Christchurch, including Queenspark, Burwood, Forest Park, Waimairi Beach, Marshlands, Avondale, Tumara Park, Mairehau and New Brighton If you would like to know more about us, then please browse around using the menu on the left. If you would like to hire our hall (with or without the licensed bar) then please see the Hire Our Hall page for details. If you need directions to find us, there is also a link to our page on Google maps on the Contact Us page. Green 2 Re-build The greenkeeping team, and a working party of members, have now removed the recent liquefaction from Green 2 and filled in the sink hole. The sink hole has been compacted down with a commercial vibrating plate, but this latest event will unfortunately delay the opening of the green. However, green 2 surrounds and plinths have no damage, due mainly to the excellent re-build achieved by club members following previous damage Many thanks are due to the St Albans-Merivale Bowling Club, for agreeing to our use of their greens for our competitive bowling while our number 2 green is being re-built. In addition the useable rinks on our number 1 green can still be used for role-ups. Full details of these arrangements have been sent out to all Parklands members in the newsletter. New Washer/Sterilizer
Much thanks are due to the Mainland Foundation Trust for the sum of $3,865 to purchase a new washer/sterilizer for the hall. The new equipment will be of benifit to members and many organisations that hire our facilities. The Christmas Party Rob & Ian play guitar at the Christmas Party.
